Without the proper plan and forward-thinking leadership at the helm, New Bedford could be stripped of the culture, creativity, and character our downtown has become known for.

Downtown New Bedford Inc., a local volunteer-run non-profit 501c3 organization, is thrilled to announce the return of their beloved annual Fall Fest on Saturday, October 19th, from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM. This yearâs Fall Fest promises to be a celebration of community spirit, Fall fun, and support for local small businesses.
dNB Inc., managed and operated by dedicated local small business owners and community members, has been an integral part of our cityâs cultural fabric for years. dNB’s FallFest, which started simply as a day of trick or treating downtown, has grown into a full-fledged festival with experiences for both adults and kids.
âFallFest is an awesome way for our downtown business owners to give back to the communityâ says Elissa Paquette, owner of Calico on Union Street and dNB Inc Board President. âIt offers a family-friendly trick or treat experience, as well as events, entertainment, and activations for all ages throughout downtown.”
Last year, dNBFallFest included a Trunk or Treat for the first time–an event that families with trick or treater’s loved and that dNB is excited to bring back again for 2024! “Iâm thrilled to have coordinated this year’s Trunk or Treat in downtown New Bedford!” says car enthusiast and local realtor, Katrina Carmo. “Events like this are so important because they give families a chance to make memories while staying connected to the heart of our city.”
FallFest is not only a day of fun and entertainment, but also a chance to highlight local small businesses. With various attractions throughout downtown, the event aims to drive foot traffic and encourage visitors to explore all downtown New Bedford has to offer. “It’s been a rough few years for many small businesses,” says Paquette. “We hope that FallFest gives folks the opportunity to discover some new favorite shops and restaurants and encourages them to support local this holiday season!”
