Spectators and others visiting Downtown New Bedford for the Half Marathon Road Race on March 21 can compete in the“Restaurant Run.” Running is acutally not required, walk or stroll to our restaurants, pubs and shops galleries and museums. Many will be offering specials and race day discounts. TASTE OF SOUTHCOAST - MAY 16, 2010
3rd Annual Taste of SouthCoast a Huge Success!
Downtown New Bedford, Inc. held its 3rd Taste Of SouthCoast Festival on Sunday, May 17 2009, from noon-4pm at Custom House Square in historic Downtown New
Bedford. At this family-friendly event, SouthCoast restaurants,
caterers, and bakeries served sample sized portions of their signature dishes. Local
beverages provided by Buzzards Bay Brewery & Travessia Urban Winery were available. Ticket price included music by
the popular U2 cover band "Joshua Tree" and free children's activities.

GREATER NEW BEDFORD SUMMERFEST - JULY 2, 3 & 4, 2010
Summerfest is New Bedford’s annual family-oriented
international folk music/arts festival. The festival is held
in the New Bedford Whaling National Historical Park
and featuries an array of musical performers, artisan’s
marketplace, juried crafts, international bazaar and

NEW BEDFORD SEAPORT CHOWDER FESTIVAL -
SEPTEMBER 12, 2010
Downtown New Bedford, Inc. held its 4th Annual Chowder Festival on Sunday, September 13th 2009 from noon-4pm at Custom House Square in the heart of historic Downtown New Bedford.
Approximately 30 area restaurants and caterers served sample sized portions of their best clam
and quahog chowders, seafood chowder and kale soup under two large circus-size
tents. Local beverages were provided by Buzzard Bay Brewery and Travessia Urban Winery.
Visitors enjoyed live music and free children's
activities.
WORKING WATERFRONT FESTIVAL - SEPTEMBER 25 & 26, 2010
The Working Waterfront Festival is a free, family-friendly,
educational celebration of New England’s commercial
fishing industry. Featuring live maritime and ethnic music,
fishermen’s contests, fresh seafood, vessel tours, author
readings, cooking demonstrations, kid’s activities and
more. The festival was voted a Top 100 Event in North America
